Meet the FishThePotomac Dream Team!
Think of our staff as your kid’s personal squad of river adventurers—cheerful, curious, and bursting with energy! Leading the charge is Captain Tim, our fearless, fun-loving USCG-Licensed Captain who could teach a fish how to fish if he had to. He’s got a heart for the outdoors, a head full of fishy facts about DC’s history on the water, and a knack for inspiring young minds to reel in some of that history along with their very first catch!
Right alongside him is a crew handpicked for their big smiles, bigger laughs, and endless patience. They’ve all passed the “fun test” with flying colors and know their way around a hook, a paddle, and a tall fish tale. These pros aren’t just friendly—they’re also first-aid and CPR certified by the Red Cross, so your kid’s safety is always at the top of the charts. And when they’re not showing off the best casting techniques or pointing out cool river wildlife, they’re fueling imaginations and turning the Potomac & Anacostia into a playground of endless possibilities.
In other words, your child’s got front-row seats to the most supportive, enthusiastic, and downright delightful crew on the river!
A Typical Day at Kids Fishing Club Camp
At the Kids Fishing Club Camp, every day is an adventure on the Potomac! Campers start their day bright and early at 9:00 AM, gathering at the dock with excitement in the air. After a warm welcome from Captain Tim and the crew, the morning kicks off with a quick safety briefing and a rundown of the day’s schedule. Whether it’s fishing, kayaking, or learning boating skills, the focus is always on hands-on, interactive fun.
As the day unfolds, campers might find themselves casting lines from the deck of *Geronimo*, exploring the water on kayaks, or learning to navigate and tie knots. Mid-morning, they take a snack break while soaking up the serene views and chatting with new friends. By 11:30 AM, the group regathers to review what they’ve learned and share their highlights. We separate the kids into two groups of 6 and the two groups typically swap activities for the second half of the day. The day wraps up with a safety recap, docking the boat, and prepping for the next day’s adventure.
Every day is a mix of learning, exploring, and fun, leaving campers excited to come back for more! 🌊
